Piton Gallieni and Piton des Chasseurs

Not being too well up in the subject of locations in the Salonika theatre, I would value anyone's help here. Can you tell me where Piton des Chasseurs and Piton Gallieni were? I guess these were trench locations, from the French names?

When the British Forces were fighting on the mountainous area near Lake Doiran, they were fighting over the Petit Couronne and the Jumeaux Ravine. "Pitons" would fit in well in this area. I've looked at my references for Salonika and my few New Mosquitoes, but no luck.

Chris, do you know Simon Moody and Andrew WaKefield? They can tell you if anyone can, if you don't one is at IWM and the other at RAF Herndon I think.

Actually it is Simon Moody of the RAF Museum at Hendon, who is editor of the New Mosquito newsletter, and Alan Wakefield, photographic archivist of the IWM, who was appointed chairman of the SCS at their AGM in October.

Does anyone know if the Salonika Campaign Society is going there this fall? A friend and I who went to Gallipoli last fall are interested, thanks.

Nothing has been mentioned so far, to my knowledge. Last Autumn's trip was a two-week epic, and although SCS membership is growing steadily, there aren't enough members to sustain such a tour on an annual basis, although cutting down to a week might help.
