historydavid Posted 6 May , 2006 Share Posted 6 May , 2006 Chris, this is the only Panama I have details of: On 10th July 1915 SS Panama, 5,981 grt, was persued by an unidentified German U-boat 11 miles S from the Lizard, Cornwall, English Channel, but escaped by own speed. Tim Posted 9 May , 2006 Share Posted 9 May , 2006 Built 1902. In 1914 became hospital ship. In 1920 became Admiralty's permanent hospital ship, renamed Maine.
