Pte Walter Clegg 2/4th West Riding Regiment

Can anyone help with info on 267321 Pte Walter Clegg please ?

KIA 30/08/18 B & E Bradford and remembered on the Vis-en-Artois memorial.

Does anyone know where the 2/4th West Riding Regt were on the 30/08/18 and what they were doing please ?

I may be able to find something at the library tomorrow if you do not get an answer before then. Unfortunately they do not have the History of the 62nd West Riding Division, but they do have a copy of the West Riding Territorials in the Great War. It might have something. Worth a look anyway.

The 186th Infantry Brigade in the 62nd Division.

According to the History of the West Riding Territorials in the Great War, the 62nd Division drove the Germans out of Mory, about four miles north of Bapaume, between the 25th and the 27th of August. They were fighting again from 29th August to the 1st September 1918. There is no mention of a move so presumably they were still in the same general area. There is nothing more other than a mention of hard fighting for the division.
