Sugestion on my next move

I have spent many years searching for my father’s army record with no joy. His name was JOHN AMBROSE ROGERS, and he joined up at 15 years of age in 1915 and his parents came and got him out of the army untill he was of age when thay came and colleckted him

He served in France then in Russia with the British Interventionary Force ( British Slavonic Legion )

I am almost certain that ALFRED J ROGERS late of the 17th Lancers is one and the same person. We have come to believe this, due to no record of John Ambrose Rogers in the army exists, however John’s father was called Alfred and when he joined up originally under age, he would have given a false name.

ALFRED J ROGERS 1st East Surrey’s Reg no 325/9[/ (the East Surrey,s were the local regiment)

17th Lancers reg no GS/ 23987 (hear say he was in the 17th Lancers)

Corps of Lancers no L/ ? 648
