Hello,

Could anyone help me with this photogragh that I've aquired?

as you can see (hopefully) he was in the 1/6th LF.

But what is that badge on his forearm?

The soldier in question lost his arm at third Ypres, probably on September the 6th, when the 1/6th attacked Borry farm, His name is Sam Hilton, and was drafted out to Egypt, to cover losses that the Battalion lost at Gallipoli, thats all I know, could the photo have been took while on leave? Could the men take their rifles home with them?

Thank you.

Ian.
