Remembering:

8615 Private Thomas Frank Binfield, 1st Bn Royal Berkshire Regiment.

Killed by a sniper on 29 September 1914, in No1 Trench La Metz Farm Valley.

Commemorated on the La Ferte sous Jouarre Memorial.

Lee ... I notice Thomas Binfield is not listed amongst those family members remembered in yr sign off. It would be nice to know yr interest in this man. RIP Thomas.

Signals - No family connection at all.

I came across Thomas' name in the 1st Battalion's war diary whilst researching the Battalion.

I thought I'd share Thomas and his fate with the Pals.

Some extra details, courtesy of the CWGC:

Son of Mrs. Elizabeth Binfield, of 1, Alma Place, Langley New Town, Slough, Bucks; husband of Mabel Ellen Lusted (formerly Binfield), of 19, Magdala Rd., Dover.
