Can any one look up Charles Spicer who was born in South Ockendon Essex about 1894 and died in action Nov possibly 1917 or 18. We are sure about the month but not the year. CWGC comes up with a couple of options but a confirmation elsewhere would be a great help. Regards Steve

Bob. Thanks for your reply. Perhaps to broaden it out a little, are there any Spicers listed from the Essex area who died in any November who may fit the bill. CWGC lists a C Spicer 27 / 11 / 1918 WR / 276213 Royal Engineers who may be our man. He may have been known by another name but his family stone had the year flaked away although it clearly says Charles Spicer Died on Active Service in France November.........Aged......... (as attachment). We dont think it's WW2 and we have some Census info from 1901 which puts him in the right place but cannot find him on CWGC. Any help appreciated. Regards Steve.
