mmm45 Posted 19 April , 2006 Share Posted 19 April , 2006 Hi A bit of a stab in the dark here.I have a victory medal to 66261 pte JT Lowe Northumberland Fusiliers. I have no more info but on his MIC in the top left hand corner is the number 5 could this possibly signify 5th Btn or is it just my wishful thinking and have no significance? He was awarded the BWM AND VM. Any help appreciated. Ady
GavinH Posted 19 April , 2006 Share Posted 19 April , 2006 Afraid not. It's the regiment's number of precedence. The Northumberland Fusiliers were the old 5th Foot. Regards Gavin
per ardua per mare per terram Posted 19 April , 2006 Share Posted 19 April , 2006 But his battalion will probably be listed on the medal roll. You will probably learn his middle name from that too.
