Andrew Hesketh Posted 15 April , 2006 Share Posted 15 April , 2006 The MIC's only produce one Robert Sly of the RFA, here.... http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/documen...1&resultcount=1 ...and he was killed..... http://www.cwgc.org/search/casualty_detail...casualty=531112 SDGW doesn't say where he was born, but he was resident of, and enlited in, Doncaster. Possible?
Andrew Hesketh Posted 15 April , 2006 Share Posted 15 April , 2006 Incidentally, SDGW doesn't produce anySly's for Retford on born, enlisted or residence searches.

dorrie Posted 16 April , 2006 Author Share Posted 16 April , 2006 I have just found a Robert Sly on 1901 Census aged 2. He was born in Skegness but resided in Retford. There are one or two from Retford I have recently researched who enlisted in the RFA at Doncaster. Dorrie
