Hi All

is it possible to get the regiment and medals given a sparse piece of info. My wife's maternal grandfather was born in the Isle of man and resided in Liverpool I know he served because I saw his medals. H e suvived the war and he made and carved a box for his medals. Hear comes the bitter part.the wife's mother gave thebox of medals to the grandson my wife's brother. Unfortunately he said he has lost them. What I would really try to find out is through the medal roll and just that small piece of info can you trace his army record. His name was David Cain.

burnsey

Burnsey,

If it's any help, there are only 6 David Cain's listed on the Medal Index Cards (MICs). Needless to say, there could be a few more that have spelling mistakes, perhaps Caine, Cane etc.........

Here's the few that pop up straight away.

David Caine MIC

You might want to cross reference them with the CWGC site click here for CWGC to see if any were KIA etc.

Les.
