Manitoba Posted 5 April , 2006 Share Posted 5 April , 2006 Hoping to find any information about this German POW camp. It does not appear to be mentioned in any of the books concerning WWI POW camps. Nor is it listed on the Long Long Trail site. I believe that it was possibly attached to Munster PF. What does PF signify? Manitoba

Manitoba Posted 5 April , 2006 Author Share Posted 5 April , 2006 Thanks Bernard, Definitely Wulfen. It appears twice on my gt uncles CEF service record - I've been down the Dulmen route previously. Manitoba
delta Posted 5 April , 2006 Share Posted 5 April , 2006 Wulfen is also quite close to Munster to Dulmen - it was the site of a British Army of the Rhine ammo depot
Doug Johnson Posted 6 April , 2006 Share Posted 6 April , 2006 Manitoba, It's not one I have come across yet. Do you have other information such as approximate dates and you great uncles rank which would narrow the search down? How strong is the Munster connection, was he there at some time? The Behind the Wire list is not of all the places mentioned in WO161, just those where someone or something particular is mentioned. If a PoW was interviewed and he was there then it may not be listed in the index. There is also more than one place called Wulfen. There were thousands of small work camps all over Germany and it sounds like one of those. PF is also unfamiliar, what is the reference in connection with?
