Prepared ready for inclusion in "IWT Page 608" whatever that was, scribed & marked out ready for trimming;Thank goodness they didnt! It shows William Boulter VC as a Sergeant in fine repose. eviltaxman Posted 3 April , 2006 Share Posted 3 April , 2006 Great photo. Could I please ask if you could do a hi-res scan (to about 700kb-1mb) and e-mail me a copy? I'm slowly (very slowly) building up a small photo collection of VC headstones and other odds 'n sods. Cheers, Les.

Stebie9173 Posted 3 April , 2006 Share Posted 3 April , 2006 I Was There Issue 15, page 608 It's in a short picture article "VCs of the Ypres League" where he appears along with Lance-Sergeant Belcher of the 5th Londons & Lance-Corporal Wilcox of the 2/4th Ox & Bucks LI, in uniform and also a picture of all three with wreath commemorating those lost in the Salient for ceremony in Horse Guards parade 30-10-1938. Only Belcher won his VC at Ypres, and Lt. Boulter only fought there very briefly with the 7th Northamptonshire Regiment. Yes, it was cropped. Just below breast pockets and cutting Sgt stripes in half vertically. Steve.

HarryBettsMCDCM Posted 3 April , 2006 Author Share Posted 3 April , 2006 IWT! Doh! Nice one Steve. Thanks its a shame they left a paperclip on it to go rusty for 80 years!
Stebie9173 Posted 3 April , 2006 Share Posted 3 April , 2006 Most impressive picture I've seen of him, the cropped one doesn't do him justice. I'd follow that man into battle. Steve.
