David_Bluestein Posted 22 September , 2003 Share Posted 22 September , 2003 I wanted to share a research breakthrough on the forum: The 1914-15 Star Trio to Capt. A.E.A. Evans 13th Northumberland Fusiliers is presently in my care. This young officer was killed in France on June 16, 1917. I recently discovered that he attended 'The University Of Manitoba', which led me to their Memorial Book...which further led me to the only known photograph of Albert Ethelbert Aylward Evans! I have attached it here for you to see... Do any Pals have any knowledge of the 13th Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers, and what they were involved in on June 16, 1917? Does this unit have a Regimental History etc or War Diary available? Any help greatly appreciated, Best wishes and thanks in advance! Guest Ian Bowbrick Posted 22 September , 2003 Share Posted 22 September , 2003 David, A nice bit of digging. The Bn should ave a war diary in the WO95 series at the PRO. He should have an officer's record also at Kew. Ian
