118 Division RFA

Thanks to HOLOPHILE, I now know where and what this Division was doing from Feb 1915 until April 1916. , they were attached to the Canadian 1st Div. But where did they go from here? does anyone know?

I know they ended up in India after the war, any one any idea why?

According the AF Becke, who wrote that part of the official history that gives the orders of battle of specific divisions, the 118 Brigade, RFA ....

...got a third battery on 15 August 1915

...transferred to the 11th Division on 15 July 1916#

...got broken up soon thereafter, giving one of its batteries to each of the three 'mixed' field artillery brigades of that division.

#The 11th Division had come out of Egypt without a howitzer brigade.
