sandyford Posted 26 March , 2006 Share Posted 26 March , 2006 12th Northumberland Fusiliers a K3 Battalion - overseas 14/09/1915. Almost immediately they were brought into Reserve at the Battle of Loos, as part of the 21st Div. 66nd Brigade. There is a very good section on the regiments/battalions and an account of the Battle of Loos on the Long Long Trail if you go to the link at the top. Guest greatniece Posted 28 March , 2006 Share Posted 28 March , 2006 According to the Batallion War Diary at Kew, the 12th Bn were at Loos on 25.9.15 and participated in the assault on Hill 70 on 26.9.15. My husband's grandfather served in the 12th, later the 12th/13th and was captured on 21st March 1918 at Heudecourt. He remained a prisoner of war to the end of the War.
