delta Posted 26 March , 2006 Share Posted 26 March , 2006 Joseph Riley, service number 4429, a Pte of 1st Bn East Lancashire Regiment. Buried on his own in Ammersfoort, a town 50 kilometres south-east of Amersterdam. The cemetery is situated at the crossroads of the Utrechtseweg and Bergstraat. The single Commonwealth war grave is on the right side of the main path beyond the crosspath. Could he has been a POW or a soldier who was held as a neutral by the Dutch, who died of wounds or the flu. Good question - let's help with the answer.
