i would like any information on great granfather william henry shepperd L7361, from what l found so far he jointed 1st batt east surrey in 1902 and went to france 1914. transferred to 12th and landed up in the buffs.

Cleo, who is a member of this forum is also researching Shepperd/Sheppard. Do you know each other?

Here is some information on him

Sheppard went overseas to France / Flanders on 23/11/1914 with the 1st East Surreys (number L7361). At some stage he transferred to the 12th East Surreys and ended up as Acting WO2 in the Buffs (number L12564) but my records do not show which Battalion he was with. He was discharged on 6/6/1920 being no longer physically fit for service.
