SteveB Posted 25 March , 2006 Share Posted 25 March , 2006 Picked up a lovely gong today at a local market., made out of a 1914 shell case (cartridge), enscribed with "HMS Pansy 1917 North Sea". See attached pictures. Can anyone tell me anything about HMS Pansy? Thanks a lot! SteveB Close up.
carninyj Posted 25 March , 2006 Share Posted 25 March , 2006 Have a look here. She's one of the sloops listed/pictured. Regards Carninyj http://www.battleships-cruisers.co.uk/naval_sloops_.htm
Terry_Reeves Posted 25 March , 2006 Share Posted 25 March , 2006 HMS Pansy was a Flower Class, Fleet Minesweeping Sloop - hence the depiction of a mine on the top. She was completed in 1916 and sold in 1920. Terry Reeves
