Swally Posted 22 March , 2006 Share Posted 22 March , 2006 Hi Guys, Would there be a list of the prisoners who were exchanged or even details of where this took place etc. Wishing you all the best & thanks Swally
Glosters Posted 23 March , 2006 Share Posted 23 March , 2006 The first exchange of prisoners through the Red Cross was in February 1915. They were all classed as unfit for further war service. The men were admitted to Queen Alexandra's Military Hospital, London on 17 Feb. 1915. I have a list of these men. Steve
Swally Posted 23 March , 2006 Author Share Posted 23 March , 2006 Steve, I think that a ggreat uncle of mine was released in Switzerland around February 1916 in an exchange of prisoners, you wouldn't happen to have that list would in order that I could find out what POW camp he had been in. Best Regards, Swally
Arthur J Posted 27 March , 2006 Share Posted 27 March , 2006 Hi Steve, I also would be interested in this list, my friend is the curator of the Royal Irish Fusiliers Museum, and is carrying out research on Irish POW's regardless of regiment, be they serving in Irish,Scottish, English or colonial regiments. We had not been unaware of this list, and she would be interested the names on the list, especially if there any Irishmen. Thanks in anticipation Arthur J
