Terry's diary covers the 2nd battalion (a regular unit), whereas the 2/4th are a second line territorial unit - different unit, different division. In answer to your query though, Between the 1st and the 6th October 1918, the 2/4th South Lancs were simply "in reserve behind La Folie Wood".
