w.longmore Posted 15 March , 2006 Share Posted 15 March , 2006 Hi folks, I'm new to the forum so please bear with me. I have my grandfathers MIC and I am puzled by the code used to denote his cause of discharge. He enlisted 7-10-1914 and was discharged on 13-12-1917. Under the heading 'Cause of discharge' 392 XVI KR 2BI W I know that the KR is Kings Regulations, but can anyone tell me what that particular King's Reg is or means? Thanks in advance, Bill
SteveE Posted 15 March , 2006 Share Posted 15 March , 2006 Bill 392 XVI KR = No longer physically fit for service. The W may indicate wounds as the cause, don't know what 2BI means. Hope this helps Steve and welcome to the forum......

Hope this helps Steve and welcome to the forum...... Hi Steve, It help immensely. My GF was married on the 10-12-1917, he was discharged on the 13-12-1917 so I surmise that he was wounded (I think it was a touch of gas) and was at home (Brierley Hill, West Midlands) on leave recuperating, met and married Mabel Capewell from Stourbridge. Steve, once again thank you for the help and also the welcome, best regards,
