spithead Posted 13 March , 2006 Share Posted 13 March , 2006 Hi Chris These were the survivors from the SMS Konigin Luise which was sunk by HMS Amphion on the 5/8/14, who herself was lost when hitting a mine laid by Konigin Luise in the English Channel. The loss of life was 151 men and 18 German prisoners. A fuller account can be found in Dictionary Of Disasters At Sea. Regards John
