Myrtle Posted 10 March , 2006 Share Posted 10 March , 2006 I would suggest that this letter is regarding Henry Chippindale who was with the Yorkshire Hussars Corporal 2345, then 16th Reserve Cavalry Reg as a 2/Lt and then Yorkshire Dragoons as 2/Lt and then Lt. There is no sign of him with the CWGC. Myrtle
Havrincourt Posted 10 March , 2006 Author Share Posted 10 March , 2006 Mrtyle many thanks, that will give me a start , I will list the other two pages tomorrow, I think Leonard Wright survived the war, Lord Helmsley [Lord Faversham] died in Sept 1916 he is mentioned as being found in a cornfield in Lyn MacDonalds Somme book, I wonder if anyone else might be able to help with the names or unit history mentioned Thanks Andy

Myrtle Posted 10 March , 2006 Share Posted 10 March , 2006 Henry Chippindale's father was a builder called Arthur according to 1901 census therefore by WW2 the Chippindales seem to have been still involved in the family business. Captain Chippindale mentioned could be Henry.
