andy17191 Posted 9 March , 2006 Share Posted 9 March , 2006 My Great Uncle died of influenza 19/11/1918, and is buried at Caudry British cemetary, which I have visited. I have copy of his medal index card (as G. W. Watkiss) which shows A.O.C as his corps, Regt. No. A/2000. 16Star RAOC/6B 488. Theatre of war first served 3/Egypt, date 24-10-15. His CWGC casualty details show him as rank: Staff Serjeant. Regiment: Royal Army Ordnance Corps. Secondary Regiment: Machine Gun Corps (Inf), Attd. 42nd Bn. I am trying to trace his / his regiment or battalion's movement during his service. Was he attached to the 42nd (East Lancs) division for his whole service, or was he transferred? So many unanswered questions! Help!
