dorrie Posted 9 March , 2006 Share Posted 9 March , 2006 I have a soldier named on the Retford memorial whsoe name is Ernest Eaitch: - EAITCH, ERNEST Initials: E Nationality: United Kingdom Rank: Second Lieutenant Regiment: London Regiment Unit Text: 1st/17th Bn. Date of Death: 02/11/1918 Additional information: Husband of Nora Eaitch, of "Exton," 3, Danesbury Avenue, Southborne, Bournemouth. Casualty Type: Commonwealth War Dead Grave/Memorial Reference: I. C. 15. Cemetery: LAVENTIE MILITARY CEMETERY, LA GORGUE . However I am trying to sort out his connection with Retford. I can find Richard Eaitch on 1901 Censu71 years of age. Fred died in 1898 and Emily Eaitch remarried in 1900 East Retford RD to Charles Edward Potter. They are on the 1901 Census as follows: 14, Humber Street, North Retford Chas. Ed. Potter, Head, aged 24, Printer Compositor, Suffolk Sudbury Emily Potter, Wife, aged 34, Notts West Retford Lily S. E. Potter, Dau, aged 11, Yorks Sheffield Harold E Potter, Son, aged 8, Yorks Sheffield Ernest E Potter, Son, aged 4, Yorks Sheffield Sarah Lily Eaitch was born 1890 Sheffield RD Harold Eaitch was born 1892 Eccleshall Bierlow RD Regards Pam Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
