Remembered Today:

Prefix Letters to Regimental number?

Is there a list available somewhere that explains the Letter Prefix's used before the regimental number. I've seen the prefix SP** (can't remember the last 2 letters) before the number on a man who served in the Royal Fusiliers. I'm just curious that I expect they mean something but I don't know what!

thanks

SPTS - that could well be it, so its the Sportsmans battalion.

Thanks very much!

And also thanks for the suggestion of 'Willianson's' I'll check that as well.

thanks again
