List of British Officers (includes Australian and Canadian Force) taken prisoner in various Theatres of War. Cox & Co 1919.

Look ups Offered.

Info available:-

Name, Regiment, Battalion, date Missing, if Interned where and date. Date Repatriated. If died in captivity-date and place. Also gives dates officers escaped and info on those killed whilst trying to escape.

Includes R.A.F (R.F.C), Royal Naval Division and Royal Naval Air Service.

Doug - could you look up Arthur Ernest Dawes, Border regiment, taken prisoner , I think in October 1914?, at least in the early stages of the war. All I know is that he was sent to the salt mines somewhere and didn't get home until 1920.

2nd Leut. E H Thomas RFA - sometime in 1918

He sent his mother a card in July 1918 telling her he was safe.

I hope I won't try your patience too much, but I'd be interested in whatever you have on some Rugby Internationals who were PoWs. The first is:
