wootten Posted 5 March , 2006 Share Posted 5 March , 2006 I am trying to trace why my Grandfather ended up in the Victoria Hall Ballater Scotland as a convelescent soldier. He was in the 1st Batallion Scots Guards and was sent there some time after 1917 He met my Grandmother who was a VAD nurse and they married in 1918. his name was William Howdle Parker. Any ideas on how I could trace his journey to this small and obscure Scottish out post of a Hospital? thanks SMW
Coldstreamer Posted 5 March , 2006 Share Posted 5 March , 2006 Hello welcome you could contact the Guards HQ in Birdcage Walk, London - the full address will be somewhere on the forum. If you get the papers it should tell you if he was wounded There is usually a charge for their time looking for papers of around £20 Ian
