Ciaran Byrne Posted 3 March , 2006 Share Posted 3 March , 2006 Were Divisional Commanders Cards published in the London Gazette? I am pretty sure they were not but need to be 100% certain.
Graham Stewart Posted 3 March , 2006 Share Posted 3 March , 2006 Ciaran, Would they also be know as "Card of Honour" or "Honour Card". If so then I believe you're right and they weren't Gazetted, but I believe some recipients do find their way into War Diaries. Graham.
Ciaran Byrne Posted 3 March , 2006 Author Share Posted 3 March , 2006 Yes, I think they had several titles. Basically what it was, was a recognition of gallentry or good work which did not warrant a medal or mention in despatches. I haven't seen any in the LOndon Gazette but in the odd regimental history they turn up from time to time.
