i cant seem to find my great grandfather thomas william smith,he was in the roal field artilery and was a saddler,boot maker master but i cant find him,there are tons of thomas william smiths but no 'saddler'

any ideas please :D

It's probably a needle in a haystack search. His rank is likely to be down as "gunner" , the Royal Field Artillery of "private"

If this man has nine children in 1923, it is reasonable to assume he was over twenty-one years old in 1918. That means he is almost certainly on the local Absentee Voters List for his home town for 1918. That should give you his name, rank, number, unit, and home address.

If it has survived.
