I am looking for birth, residence and enlistment for Harold Kaye, Private (301793), 1st 8th Battalion, Durham Light Infantry, also whether kia or dow.

Died 05/11/1916

He may be connected to Brockholes or New Mill or Holmfirth or Huddersfield.

I have been looking at the wrong Harold Kaye so the information on this man will be much appreciated.

Tony.

Hi Tony,

Born and enlisted in Huddersfield. No place of residence is given.

You may know the rest, but SDGW also records cause of death as 'killed in action' and notes that he was formerly 29505, Northumberland Fusiliers.

Looks as if he was born in Huddlesfield circa July 1900 to Edgar and Annie Kaye both of Huddlesfield. Living in Lockwood at time of 1901 Census
