Myrtle Posted 28 February , 2006 Share Posted 28 February , 2006 Here are the 1881 details for Percy when he was 11 years old. At the time of the 1881 census he was living at 8, Red Lion Square, Newcastle under Lyme, Staffs. There were twenty other people at the same address at that time. His father Alfred was a Draper and many of Percy's aunts were milliners and his uncle was a woollen draper. He had two brothers and two sisters. There were also a number of drapers, milliners and apprentices living at the same address which indicates that Alfred had a rather successful business. There were also three servants. Percy's paternal grandmother also lived with the family and as she was born in Guildford, unlike the rest of the family, it may explain Percy's unusual middle name.
