andy1400 Posted 28 February , 2006 Share Posted 28 February , 2006 I found in the local newspaper of 1918 an article about one of the men on our local war memorial. He was Purser N Mason who died of pneumonia in Cape Town whilst serving on board SS Yaraslavi. As he is on the war memorial I assume he was on war work, but I cannot find any mention of this ship anywhere. Has anyone heared of it? Cheers Andy
Bernard_Lewis Posted 28 February , 2006 Share Posted 28 February , 2006 Not sure but I think there is a town in Russia called Yaroslavl - captured by the Germans in WW2? Bernard
