Hello GWF,

I'm very new to all this , but i've got the family tree bug and it won't go away.......

I need help or a point in the right direction, my grandfather never knew his father as he was born in Apr 1916 in a Mission of Hope Hospital (54 Leigham Court Rd Streatham), i believe it was a place for fallen woman to go and have babies out of wedlock because on his birth certificate the space for Father is blank. But on my Grandfather's marriage certificate though it states Frank Webb (Also) HM Army deceased.

Frank Webb isn't that common a name, but i know nothing else about him only that we think he died in the Great War.

Many thanks in advance

GW

GW,

welcome to the Forum, i have had a quick look on the Commonwealth War Graves Commission website, a search reveals there are at least 153 F Webb's on the site with a few coming up as Frank. Can I suggest you visit the site and start to sift through the list as some of them have next of kin details and family address's that you may recognise from your research.

Can I suggest you perhaps re post this message on the 'Soldiers' bit of the Forum as more people will get to read it and may be able to help you. Also have a look at the sister site The Long Trail (I think its called)

Good luck with your research and please don't tell me you are actually a 'GOONER'?????

Regards,

Scottie.
