Guest Ian Mac Posted 25 February , 2006 Share Posted 25 February , 2006 Sorry folks, still getting used to this Forum posting thing! Dont know where the info I wrote about Major McLaren went. He was born 1897-1900. Came from Newburgh, Fife and was commissioned in about 1942. He married Anne Karoline and had two sons. He was my grandfather's brother and I would love to know some more about him. Any info will be appreciated.

Guest Ian Mac Posted 26 February , 2006 Share Posted 26 February , 2006 Hi Ian Thanks for that prod - I had a hazy knowledge of the London Gazette site and had previously had unsuccessful attempts to search it. Today's search was fruitless for Robert but I came up with lots for his brother David (my grandfather) and thus it was very worthwhile just for that. I think I need an Army Ed Corps buff to help me out with this! It sounds like (as often happens) the family version is a bit astray from the truth!
