AOK4 Posted 12 December , 2002 Share Posted 12 December , 2002 Hello, I'm working on the history of Bissegem (Bisseghem) during WW1. The village is situated near Kortrijk (Courtrai) on the Leie (river Lys). The Germans built an airfield in the village. This airfield was used by allied units after the capture of Bisseghem in October 1918. Until now, I have found that following units must have been in Bisseghem: 7 Squadron RAF (22 October-1 November 1918) 24 Squadron RAF (10-16 November 1918 & 11 December 1918-12 February 1919) 43 Squadron RAF (15-16 November 1918) 65 Squadron RAF (25 October 1918-12 February 1919) 108 Squadron RAF (24 October-16 November 1918) I still have to check the war diaries in the PRO and I also have to check the photo archive of the IWM. Does anyone knows of other units that were based in Bisseghem or does anyone knows of interesting books/information about these units from the time they were in Bisseghem?
