mutley Posted 21 February , 2006 Share Posted 21 February , 2006 Can any pal expalin the following abbreviation "SWS Multiple" It is on a copy of a soldiers records I have just been given copies of and I am inclined to think it stands for something like shrapnel wounds or shell wounds. It is preceeded with the statement "Died of wounds" The individual died of wounds on 08 12 1916 and from the unit war diary it states that "A Coy shelled in front line trenches 3 OR's killed and 9 wounded". Thanks in advance Mutley
Hindoo Stan Posted 21 February , 2006 Share Posted 21 February , 2006 Could it refer to Shrapnel Wounds? Tim
mutley Posted 21 February , 2006 Author Share Posted 21 February , 2006 My thoughts exactly, but I just wondered if some far more experienced Pal could confirm it. Thanks Mutley
