Nogent-sur-Marne: Lazare Ponticelli, 108, an Italian who is the last member of the Foreign Legion to have fought in the First World War, and one of six soldiers from the conflict left in France, has won honorary citizenship. AFP) Let's hope he lives a good few years to enjoy it! I always thought that you had automatic right of French citizenship if you survived the Legion!
