I have an individual on my memorial research project: Private 39170 Tom Harry (aka Percy) Cope, born Skipton, resident in Stanley, Durham.

Any help on location/action about the 2 Yorks would be most gratefully received.

Steve,

Nov 6th 1918 2nd Yorkshires moved forward towards the Bavay-Montignies road, A & B coys in front, C in support and D as reserve.

When east of Meaurains leading companies came under very heavy machine gun fire and casualties mounted up and not much progress could be made.

Hope this is of some use to you.

Bob.

Thanks Bob for your response.

Could you - if you have time - let me know your source: war diary or other?
