stevehowarth Posted 19 February , 2006 Share Posted 19 February , 2006 I have an individual on my memorial research project: Private 39170 Tom Harry (aka Percy) Cope, born Skipton, resident in Stanley, Durham. Any help on location/action about the 2 Yorks would be most gratefully received. steve
Bob Coulson Posted 20 February , 2006 Share Posted 20 February , 2006 Steve, Nov 6th 1918 2nd Yorkshires moved forward towards the Bavay-Montignies road, A & B coys in front, C in support and D as reserve. When east of Meaurains leading companies came under very heavy machine gun fire and casualties mounted up and not much progress could be made. Hope this is of some use to you. Bob.
