anyone collecting data on liverpool lads,this appeared in stockports papers.

pte daniel veitch of the liverpool scottish was commended by stockport magistrates for helping police sgt heeley to apprehend sapper harold wagstaff of 7 ashbrook lane,reddish on saturday,19th jan 1918,wagstaff being a deserter from the army,who became violent when approached by sgt heeley,pte veitch assisted the police officer in overpowering him,he was taken away in a ambulance.pte veitch was recovering from wounds in a stockport hospital
