shaunhullis Posted 14 February , 2006 Share Posted 14 February , 2006 I would be very grateful for any information as to what this battalion – in 181 Brigade of 60th Division – was up to on 29/07/1916. I am trying to find out how one of Winchester College's old boys died. He was Private 4861 Arthur POWELL. According to our school records he died at Vimy Ridge whilst serving with the battalion Lewis gun section. I know that the war diary is highly unlikely to mention him, but it would be very helpful to have what it says for the period. Many thanks.
