Im researching a Tunneler from 170 coy RE can anyone let me know what they were involved with from April 1915 until July 1916 and if there are any unit histories available? My man was a former miner so when these companies were raised he was an obvious candidate.His number in the RE WAS 86124 J Herrington. There is also some information in: Tunnellers - Captain W .Grant Grieve and Bernard Newman and War Underground - Alexander Barrie.
