Chris_Baker Posted 9 September , 2003 Share Posted 9 September , 2003 A long shot. William Leo Whelan. Originally 19689 Pte in 8th (S) Battalion Royal Welsh Fusiliers. In December 1918 or January 1919, he left a bit of graffiti in Floreffe, Belgium, as his unit (by now, 34th Bn MGC) was on its way to Germany. And the finder of the graffiti and I are trying to track down a bit more detail. Unfortunately his service papers seem to have been lost. So...as I said a long shot...can anyone shed any further light on this man? Home, photo, anything!
