TRACAENA Posted 11 February , 2006 Share Posted 11 February , 2006 Attached is a Poem by my Grandfather J.O.Kent "In memory of his dear brother Frederick James Kent & comrades who fell Aug 12th 1915, in the attack at Suvla Bay" These verses appeared in the Newmarket Journal. I hope you all find this interesting. Mark

SFayers Posted 13 February , 2006 Share Posted 13 February , 2006 Hi Mark Great photographs! I notice your great uncle Frederick was killed the same day as my gran's cousin Stanley (see my signature below). As a matter of interest, do you by any chance happen to have any idea what happened on the 21st August? There were quite a number of chaps from the battalion killed in action this day and all, as far as I can tell, have no known graves. I've always thought the lack of graves or missing graves odd as apparently at this time the battalion was supposed to be in reserve trenches! cheers Steve
