Guest RoryP Posted 10 February , 2006 Share Posted 10 February , 2006 Hi, My Gt grandfather served with the Lovat Scouts and was stationed in Gallipoli. He never spoke about the war with any member of the family so trying to find information on what he might have done has been very difficult. Does anyone know where i can find information on the Lovat Scouts? RP
CSMMo Posted 11 February , 2006 Share Posted 11 February , 2006 "The Story of the Lovat Scouts 1900-1980" by Michael Leslie Melville, 2004 by Librario Press,ISBN 1-904440-03-7 is a good place to start - available from the publisher at www.librario.com, but I believe I got mine from Amazon. Chapter 6 is on training and home defense before deployment and Chapter 7 is on Gallipoli. Their official museum is at Fort George, Nairn, along with the Queens Own Highlanders. Here's a good website: http://www.qohldrs.co.uk/html/lovat_scouts.htm Good Hunting! Mike Morrison
