Hi

Was wondering if any Royal Artillery Experts could help me out.Am researching my grandads brothers service record he was 98619 Tallon JT served according to his MIC with the RFA as a shoesmith which would tie in with his civvy trade. He entered Egypt on 2/7/15 would it be possible to find from his service number which Battery or unit he was attached to?

Thanks for any help.

Ady

Not likely from Number, but from his embarkation date it may be possible to narrow down the list by discovering which Division arrived in the Area on that date, from that you can suss the RA Batteries involved, whilst not infallible{he would have to have been of the original Contingent, not a later Re~inforcement/Draft}it might help narrow the odds[see Long Long Trail, for Divn Dates]
