Hywyn Posted 5 February , 2006 Share Posted 5 February , 2006 Of the six on my area's WM that I am having problems in positively identifying is William J Jones of Green Terrace. He is mentioned on his parents gravestone as having been killed on 12/4/1917. He is 11yrs old at No 6 on 1901 census. Could a Pal see if he is on SDGW Other address bits that may be of relevance are Ebenezer, Deiniolen, Cwm y Glo and Carnarvonshire. Hywyn Posted 5 February , 2006 Author Share Posted 5 February , 2006 Terry Thanks for looking. CWGC on that one puts him at Abertillery in Monmouthshire. It definitely said 12/4/17 on the gravestone but I'll double check next time I'm there. Thanks hywyn
Terry Denham Posted 5 February , 2006 Share Posted 5 February , 2006 Hywyn I wasn't suggesting that you had got the date wrong but I have seen several gravestones with incorrect info on them - thought to be correct by relatives at the time. However, it looks like this is not your man.

Hywyn Posted 5 February , 2006 Author Share Posted 5 February , 2006 Kevin/Terry Looks like my man. The CWGC entry states "Son of John and Emily Jones, of 5, Park P]ace, Abertillery, Mon." I suppose it could be two sentences i.e "William son of...." and "William of...the address" I'll have to double check the grave now to get the parents name off it and take it from there.I'm not up to thinking too much at the momemt seeing as I'm still suffering from the effects of drowning my sorrows from yesterdays unlucky and totally against the grain rugby result. Diolch/Thanks Hywyn
