Hi Zippy

A quick look through the Battalion History would suggest; digging advance trenches, more digging and patrols (on the night of the 28th/29th). Can you send you some more scans by e-mail

cheers

Mike

sorry Tim

I meant the previous few days which are missing from the scan.

There were a 3 (?) casualties those few days:-

2782 Cpl Albert Stableford (29th)

3859 Pte William Canadine (28th)

4588 Pte Frank Sturdy (28th)

I'll check to see if I've got a copy of the the War Diary for those few days aswell

Mike

You may be interested in the online diary of Sid Dore of the Robin Hoods, a 1st July casualty. It's on my site (link below in signature) but shortcut is: http://www.derbyshirelads.uwclub.net/Men/s..._dore_index.htm

His record for the 29th reads:

"Attack cancelled at the last minute. Bombardment still continued. Patrols in action."
