Ian Underwood Posted 5 February , 2006 Share Posted 5 February , 2006 I found in a local flee market down here in Oz the book 'Atkins At War, As told in his own letters' belonging to Private John J. Tartt of the 1st Kings Liverpool Regiment. A quick MIC search shows him having the service number 8896. Without actually downloading the MIC, can any Pals tell me anything from the service number? To avoid anyone else checking, he's not listed in the CWGC or the London Gazzette, and the 1901 census shows a likely match as having been born in 1896 in Southport, Lancs. Thanks in anticipation, Ian.
