Ciaran Byrne Posted 3 February , 2006 Share Posted 3 February , 2006 Has anyone got any information about Rev C.C. Griffiths - Church of England Padre, 2nd Cavalry Field Ambulance. I have two letters of condolances written by him to families of men killed in March 1918. I was wondering if anybody else had come across the name or maybe had a photo to share. Audax Posted 3 February , 2006 Share Posted 3 February , 2006 There is a medal index card for this man at the National Archives in WO 372/8 (see National Archives Documents On line. However there isn't a file for him at Kew in WO 374 Have a look at this document (click on link below) - the same signature maybe? http://www.deareverybody.net/letters/letter_10.html
Ciaran Byrne Posted 4 February , 2006 Author Share Posted 4 February , 2006 Audax, that certainly looks like his writing style and the signiture is very similar too. I think there is every possibility that he is the same person who wrote the two letters I have. Thanks for the info. I think he probably may have retired after 1922 if he is not listed as having a file at the PRO.
